Christophe Bader's aborted attempt to destroy the Bern city hall

On January 6, 1993, Christophe Bader, a militant member of the Swiss separatist movement Béliers, loaded his car with explosives, with the intention of blowing up the Bern city hall. He fell asleep in his car, however, and did not wake up until 3:00 a.m. the following morning. He turned on his car radio, which then detonated the explosive device, killing Bader instantly.
